Gardening Tips for May. Check it out!!!
May is the time to plant Bermuda grass. The winter rye grass will continue to grow for a little while after planting the Bermuda grass. Keep the lawn mowed to around ½ inch until the winter rye grass dies. This will encourage the Bermuda grass to grow. Dethatch your grass to keep it green and lush every two or three years. Increase watering to daily as the temperatures reach over 3 digits. Keep in mind that it is best to water in the early morning hours to keep evaporation down.
Other items that will need to be addressed during the month of May include:
Planting Citrus Trees
Stake newer tress to protect them
Increase water for shrubs
Fertilize especially Roses these must be done on a monthly basis
